Chieftain's towable diesel bowsers enable construction companies, farms, quarries, and fuel distributors to transport diesel legally on public roads to remote worksites, fields, and locations without fixed fuel infrastructure. Every bowser is UN-approved and EU Type Approved, meaning it meets the stringent international standards required for the road transport of hazardous goods.
The bunded design provides secondary containment as required by environmental regulations. The inner tank is constructed from 3mm mild steel with internal baffles to reduce fuel surge during transport. The 4mm mild steel outer tank provides the secondary containment layer, ensuring that any leak from the inner tank is contained and does not reach the environment.
All models feature a type-approved chassis with torsion rubber suspension and an over-run braking system to full road specification. The twin-axle design ensures stability during towing, and the tough chassis construction handles the weight of a full fuel load with confidence.
Standard equipment includes a lockable cabinet housing the pumping equipment, a four-digit flow meter for accurate dispensing records, an in-line strainer filter, and a 12-volt ISO lighting system to full road specification. A ball hitch lock provides security when the bowser is left on site.
The range covers the most common fuel transport requirements: the 220-gallon model for smaller operations and daily refuelling runs, the 300-gallon for medium-volume requirements, and the 500-gallon for larger worksites and operations that need to minimise refuelling trips.
