View DetailsChieftain's static fuel cubes provide a robust, self-contained fuel storage solution for sites that need permanent or semi-permanent diesel dispensing without the infrastructure costs of underground tanks or fixed installations. The fully bunded design means each unit meets environmental regulations for secondary containment straight out of the factory.
The 900-litre and 1,900-litre models share the same engineering approach: a removable inner tank housed within a 4mm steel outer tank that provides full secondary containment. This bunded construction ensures that any fuel leak from the inner tank is captured by the outer shell, protecting the site and the environment. The 1,900-litre model features overall dimensions of 2,280 x 1,150 x 1,285mm, a tare weight of 835kg, and a gross weight of 2,450kg.
Both models are stackable, a practical advantage for transport and storage. The 900-litre units can be stacked for efficient delivery to site, while the 1,900-litre units stack 3 high when empty and 2 high when full. This stacking capability reduces transport costs and allows multiple units to be stored compactly when not in use.
Integrated pumping equipment is included as standard, making each fuel cube a complete dispensing solution on delivery. There is no need to source, fit, and test separate pump sets. The testing pressure of 35 MPa ensures structural integrity under the stresses of transport, handling, and daily use on working sites.

Chieftain's static fuel cubes deliver compliant fuel storage with minimal site preparation. The fully bunded, stackable design with integrated pumping equipment means each unit is ready to dispense fuel on arrival. Reinforced 4mm steel construction and 35 MPa testing pressure ensure long-term reliability in demanding commercial and industrial environments.
A static fuel cube is a bunded fuel storage container designed to remain in a fixed position on a farm, construction site, or depot. Unlike a towable bowser, it is not intended for road transport. Chieftain static fuel cubes provide secure, compliant fuel storage with secondary containment built in.
Planning requirements for static fuel storage vary by local authority and volume. In many cases, fuel cubes under a certain capacity can be placed without full planning permission, but environmental regulations regarding bunding, spill containment, and distance from watercourses always apply. Check with your local council and the Environment Agency (or NIEA in Northern Ireland).
Chieftain offer static fuel cubes including the 900 Litre and 1,900 Litre models. The cubes feature fully bunded construction, lockable access, and optional dispensing equipment. The range covers requirements from small farm operations to larger depot and construction site fuel storage.
Farm fuel storage in the UK and Ireland must comply with regulations covering secondary containment (bunding), spill prevention, and distance from watercourses and drains. All Chieftain static fuel cubes are bunded as standard, meeting the requirement for 110% secondary containment capacity. Specific regulations vary by region, so check with the Environment Agency, SEPA, or NIEA.
A static fuel cube is designed for fixed-site storage and dispensing, providing a secure fuel supply at a farm, depot, or construction site. A towable bowser is mobile, allowing fuel to be delivered to remote locations via public roads. Many operations use both: a static cube as the primary store and a towable bowser for field refuelling.
Yes. Chieftain static fuel cubes can be fitted with dispensing equipment including fuel pumps, delivery hoses, nozzles, and flow meters. This allows direct refuelling of tractors, plant, and vehicles on site without the need for a separate fuel delivery. The dispensing setup can be configured to suit your operational requirements.
Yes. Chieftain static fuel cubes feature lockable access points to prevent unauthorised use and fuel theft. The bunded construction provides environmental security by containing any leaks within the outer skin. For high-risk sites, additional security measures such as padlocks and tamper-evident fittings can be specified.
